My name is Brandon Nordin and I am a sophomore at Baruch. This will be my first semester on campus and I’m really excited to finally be in the city. One of my goals for this class is to refresh my writing skills, as the last time I was in an English class was my senior year of High School. I used to love writing but that slipped away due to covid’s effect on school.
A question I had was about the week extensions on due dates: do we have to request extra time or will we get it no matter what?
I was taught to always write in the present tense when it comes to essays. I used to write very sloppily with little to no organization but learning this benefited my writing. When it comes to writing in my daily life, I use the notes app on my phone for the majority of it. I like to jot down any ideas or important information.

Brandon great to have you here!
I offer an automatic one week extension — you don’t have to ask for it. I know that sometimes folks need a couple days of extra time and often I’m still giving feedback during that time anyway so it’s OK. If you’re going to need more than one week though I ask that you email me and request more time so we can figure out a good deadline together. This is mostly so you don’t fall behind and we have time to get good feedback, etc.
