Stress

Stress is a common problem for college students resulting from additional responsibilities, inadequate scheduling of their time, alterations in eating and sleeping practices, and not taking any breaks for self-care. The move to college is often a cause of stress for many first-year students. Stressful situations that can be expected include taking tests, competing for admittance to college or internships, and trying to learn a lot in a short period of time. Stressful situations can arise from abrupt alterations, unforeseen difficulties, or emotional traumas. Students are expected to make decisions about their careers and academic life and foster new meaningful relationships in their time in college.
