To supplement the reading for Tuesday, here’s a fun but informative video on the French Revolution, created by author John Green. As with anything I post here, you should feel free to comment or ask questions below. I’ll keep an eye on the comment section and bring up any questions during our class meeting.

I like the video. I found some points interesting and to be true, especially the idea that revolution occurs because of inequality between different social classes.
In my perspective, the American revolution is much more superior to the French revolution because our revolution brought about the U.S. Constitution (remember this document). This document permanently holds government to the will of the people and a government that is run by its people, but importantly, it (document) holds all citizens to the same lawful standards and expectation. You (general) have the right to the liberty of speech, religion, and assembly as an example. As a compliment, the American Revolution also brought the Declaration of Independence, which guarantees that all men created equally and that our creator endowed us with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
To leave with my point, the U.S. Constitution brought in from the American Revolution kept a great union of states together for over 200 years! because its citizens saw that the laws in the document were enforced fairly for every man, woman and child. However, as we progress through history, citizens have come to witness special treatments given to those who would be given our treatment if they were in our shoes. For example, the financial crisis of 2008 where top-level individuals were statistically likely to have criminal involvement , otherwise incompetency, walking away without being subjected to the same laws of the mass population. That is why multiple revolutions occurred in France, and it should serve as a clear illustration for American political system.
