Although I’ve never been in a hybrid class, I had done my research and went in with a rough idea of what i was getting my self into. To be honest, i was expecting the online aspect of the class to be orientated more around live discussions rather than commenting on posts. The only question i still have unanswered is will we will take advantage of the online portion of this course ( there are just many possibilities with this.). In addition, i would like to know if there are any major differences between a hybrid and regular class besides the online part.
Personally, to me “good” participation in a hybrid class context would mean to be active, thoughtful, and respective in the online aspect of the class. If the online work in the class isn’t taken seriously, the class would fall apart. So in conclusion, the most vital part to “good” participation is to post thoughtful/thorough material and provide feed meaningful feedback to your classmates.
As a reader i enjoy immersing myself in the fiction genre-specifically mystery fiction. I prefer to read novels on paper but i still get exposed daily to digital writing. I encounter this writing digitally either on one of my newspaper apps or my “iBooks” app. These applications help me stay up to get on current events through a quick and effective medium. This digital writings are first drafted through word processors such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs depending on preferences. Then they are published online and use social media outlets such as Facebook and Instagram to advertise and disseminate their work.
My first memory of writing is definitely not one of my favorites. I can recall myself trying to write a paragraph about how i spent my summer, and i was having a little bit of difficulty doing that; probably due to the fact that my knowledge of English was very limited. It was truly a hassle for me to write anything for as long as i can remember and I came to despise the act itself after a while. Luckily for me, in highschool, I had no choice but to grind out a substantial amount of essays for my classes and eventually i got the hang of it. I developed my strengths as a writer; being able to express my ideas on paper easily and being very meticulous with the way i write. Junior year was one of my most proudest moments, right after i completed a 20 page research paper for a Cambridge class. I submitted the paper to my teacher who reviewed it and submitted it to the higher ups.
As of now i find writing enjoy and a form of stress relief.
