For my Remix Project, i decided to go for a informative video on youtube because i wanted to create something that could go hand in hand with my research based project to drive my main ideas even further. For this remix, i decided that i needed to make my argument about debunking some common misconceptions people have about immigrants because in my opinion, that is the biggest factor hindering our government from passing pro-immigration reforms. Ever since i wrote the intro from my research based project i was envisioning the scene in my head over and over again. It just had a potent effect on people and i thought it would be an amazing introduction to my remix project as a monologue to an airplane clip. I decided to make the tone more deep and slow, with emphasis on certain words. I used these techniques to incite pathos and get the audience to take me seriously. But i also included clips of a South Park character and Donald Trump to help reach a younger audience who could understand the foolishness of such figures (Also helps wake up my audience). I also included an infographics which helps put the statistics i provide the viewers with into simpler terms [logos]. All in all, i feel like my remix project did a great job in supporting the bigger picture my research project was trying to make.
Looking back at the entire process i would have to say the hardest aspect was getting my voice recorded without embarrassing myself. In addition to that, i had to synch the entire video so that my voice would match up with the text in videos. It was a very time consuming process but that was my favorite aspect, just making the video. I personally love creating content on my computer and this was an enjoyable experience for me. I feel like my argument was on the strong side but maybe i could work on the creativity?
My question to the class would be,
How Strong is my Argument and How Well do I Make it?
Hey Borys,
I thought your remix project was great. I thought that the main elements of the project was the theme of starting something new, a new beginning for immigrants. However, I believed that the argument of your project was that immigrants contribute a lot more than what post people believe. However, the main confusion I thought was whether or not your main argument was the struggle that immigrants go through or the contribution of immigrants to Americans.
My main argument was in the last segment of the video where i pointed it out
