Reflection

Preparing a resume and cover letter for Reddy Care was enlightening. I did my research on the job description and found what Reddy Care is looking for. They are looking for someone who is organized, friendly, and passionate about physical therapy. While I don’t have official in-clinic experience, I have a lot of work experience and the fact that most of my work has been volunteer work emphasizes that I embody these qualities.

When making my resume, I had to compile all the relevant information that showcased my efforts and achievements to show what an ideal worker I would be. For instance, at my current job , I remain organized on a daily basis while assisting guests with direction. At the park cleanup through school, I worked well with my peers with great effort to create a better community. These experiences show that I care, work hard, and can function as a team player—and that ultimately benefits patients and their families in a physical therapy environment.

The resume and cover letter would explain not only my interest in the position and how I’d be suited for it—even as an entry level—but also how I’d want to grow from this experience and gain more field experience down the line. Composing this project made me realize a fair expectation of a personal appeal other than just the rendered resume of past professional experiences.

This was a successful assignment in understanding how one’s resume and appeal letter could be adjusted to what any potential employer wanted from their employees. I feel much more confident applying for jobs now. This assignment also made me excited about the profession and future endeavors in physical therapy, as I can picture myself in this working world already.
