Abstract Writing Assignment 3

What is your research question/rhetorical situation?

In the process of grieving do we discover different aspects of our identity, allowing us to develop ourselves?

What is your connection to rhetorical situation and why are you uniquely placed to write about it?

I lost my grandfather. I utilized the loss to break free from the bubble I had created for myself. The loss aided me in discovering my own identity. I used to be completely reliant on others and never thought I was worth anything.  It allowed me to rethink my life and find what I was passionate about. It gave me the confidence to take risks and follow my aspirations. I therefore want to explore how other individuals dealt with their grief, whether they discovered something new about themselves, and whether there are any other cases where people have gone through a similar experience to mine.

Where do you imagine your writing “existing”? (newspaper, magazine, youtube, personal blog)

I imagine it would be in a personal blog because of my personal experience and wanting to learn more on the question and it can be reliable to others who have dealt with grief of a loved one. But it can also be in a newspaper because it has been studied by different researchers before.

Who is your target audience?

My target audience is anyone; we’ve all lost someone in our lives who had a significant impact on us. Everyone can relate to it from various perspectives.

What form will your writing take? (Research paper, narrative, letter, script.)

Research paper

Why is this form the most effective way to communicate to your target audience?

Writing it in a research paper form allows me to delve deeper into the topic, gaining a more comprehensive understanding. This depth of understanding enables me to provide well-thought-out and detailed responses to this open-ended question.

What is the value you’re trying to impart to your audience?

Grief is not always bad; it can also lead to the beginning of a new chapter in your life.
