Personal Writing Statement

ENG2100 was really helpful with learning the basics, it helped me practice writing in MLA format and citing evidence properly. I read a couple of readings and we discussed it in class as well. One of the readings was also by Amy Tan. I found the reading pretty interesting as well it was the Mother Tongue, a reading I felt pretty relatable to. But we analyzed the readings to try and understand the author’s point of view and what they were trying to convey through their writings. I hope to learn some new writing skills through ENG2150 this semester. I am most comfortable when doing free writes since I don’t have to worry about following specific prompts or finding pieces of evidence. What I think I struggle the most with is long essays that require a lot of evidence, especially argumentative essays. Which I would like to get better at this semester. I also worry a lot about organization and the formats of my essays.
