What is Cryptozoology?

Cryptozoology is defined narrowly as “the search and study for animals whose existence is disputed or unsubstantiated” (yahoo) but can more broadly be interpreted to include the appreciation of such creatures as well.

This is because there are some fans of the subject who prefer simply to read and interpret the possibilities of the existence of magical creatures, or simply to enjoy the idea of cryptids for the exciting elements it can add to literature.

Still there are those who are willing to get their hands dirty in the search for Big Foot, the Yeti, or the Loch Ness Monster.
