As you enter and take a seat, the professor you saw through the window—a man with a turtle-neck sweater and long hair—is finishing up writing his agenda on the board for the meeting. He turns around and addresses the group:
“Students and teachers, thanks for joining us. My name is Aijaz Ahmad, and I’m a professor in our new SEEK program. We’re here today to discuss our inaugural issue of SEEK Matters. We’re happily joined by representatives from the SEEK Advisory Council, who would like to help see this project through.”
What’s on the chalkboard is a list of works that have been submitted to the group.
Ahmad continues: “What we’d like to do today is get a sense of how you respond to the works submitted for the journal. Please take a look as a group, and respond with some positive feedback about what you like.”
Ahmad distributes photocopied packets around the room.
