You find yourself walking next to Tony again, as he leads the group toward a sit-in outside Boylan Hall. As you scan the crowded field, you see a group sitting in a large circle around someone who appears to be talking excitedly. You move closer to this circle and take a seat next to someone wearing a peace symbol around her neck and carrying a ‘Vietnamese Women are Our Sisters!’ banner. You try to hear what the speaker in the center of the circle is saying, and a word or two makes it your way (“liberation”, “sisterhood”, “sexism”), but you don’t hear enough to make out complete sentences. Instead you start talking with the woman sitting next to you with the protest banner. She introduces herself as Renate, and tells you that she is an organizer with the Women’s Organization, and also a lecturer at Brooklyn College.
