Last week, our FRO class attended the starr career development center workshop. Although I was unable to attend, I heard about the experience from my fellow peers. The starr career development center has many opportunities and services to offer. I learned that they offer resume workshops and mock interviews. I find this very helpful for the future, because now I know where to go for professional advice. It was mentioned in the workshop that not everyone has a set path in their life. No one has their life figured out from the get go. An individual can go through as many as ten careers in their lifetime. It’s very important to experiment through internships and jobs. Through internships and jobs one can learn what career they like or don’t like. For example, someone can think they’re interested in law can intern in a law office and find out that law is something that cannot become their profession simply because they are not interested. There are many factors that people consider when applying to a job. Money may seem like a very important factor, however there is much more to weigh in. I realized that I cannot just reply on salary to keep a job. It’s important to think about how much I enjoy the job and how I feel in the work environment. I can’t keep a job simply because it pays a lot if I hate it. I think a lot of the advice that was given during the starr career workshop was very helpful, I know that it’s important to start thinking about my career now. It’s also important for me to attend a career and internship fair so I can weigh my options for the future. College is a very big step forward in my life, and I’m glad I go to Baruch because it is full of many opportunities.

On Thursdays, I normally start at 2:30 PM so going to clubs is always tough because I usually want to stay home.  However my friend told me about a club called KCCC which stands for Korean Campus Crusades for Christ.  My pastor and the people in my church say KCCC is a good club with great people and that I should go and they somehow convinced me to go.  I had interest in going, yet my laziness had stopped me from going before.  However this Thursday, I had decided to go and see what the club was like.  I met someone I haven’t seen in 2 years named Josh Woo.  We caught up and after a few minutes of talking, it was time to go in and get ready for club activities.  Because the club is a Christian fellowship club, we did praise and service.  It was great to see people with the same interest as me and that those people are people that I’ve known for so many years.  My friend Sam led praise which I’ve only seen one other time and he played well.  He played the songs O Praise the Name, It is Well, O come to the Altar, and How Great A King.   It was a very different setting from what I am normally used to for praise but it was a welcoming sight.

One day while on the way to Baruch, I saw a poster on the wall advertising the “Museum of Sex.”  At first it was no big deal but then my girlfriend also mentioned the museum and asked me if I wanted to go.  I thought about it and in the end I thought it would be a fun and definitely unique experience.  The museum is also very close to Baruch, only being about 5-6 blocks away from Newman Vertical Campus.  We had decided to go on a Friday because she has no class and it is right after my Freshman Seminar class.  The museum is not cheap, being $20 for admission, $18.50 for students, and $3 to jump on inflatable boobs.  When we went to look at the exhibit, the things we saw were what you could say “interesting.”  There were very strange things that we saw such as old time devices for fornication, how animals get down and dirty, and some downright disturbing images and videos of the “it”.  After, my girlfriend went to go jump on the boobies.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t jump on the boobies because I did not have a government ID but I highly suggest taking a jump when visiting.  I recommend coming to the Museum of Sex if you want to experience something you have never seen before.  There are many things that I definitely learned that I know many others will be able to learn.  There is even a gift shop for those who are looking for a little spicy action!  If I could go again, I definitely would but this time with an ID.
