D&Sdocs: Worker Navigates Risks of Food Delivery

Video by Anthony Tellez

Since the start of the pandemic many local restaurants have seen profits plummet due to a statewide mandate to stay at home that prevents the spread of COVID-19. While many restaurants have had to shut their doors and hope to be financially stable enough to reopen, others have carried on with their delivery service. Loh Yee Tong works for Serafina Restaurant Group, which has closed all but two of their restaurants in New York City. Though he is glad to have employment, Tong is one of the many service workers risking their lives in order to provide food for those in the community.
