DEFERRED ACTION FOR CHILDHOOD ARRIVALS
American Policy started in 2012 for undocumented immigrants who enter the united states as minors that makes them entitled to receive a work permit for two years and be protected from deportation
Standards to be eligible to this policy :
- immigrants must have entered the united states before their 16 birthday
- be currently in school or high school graduate or obtained a GED
- Have not been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor
DACA has to be renewed every two years and it does not guarantee or make a path towards American citizenship
