Composing in English has always been something that came naturally. Despite it being my second language, it is by far my strongest. In fact, I have come to identify myself as strictly being an English writer. With that being said, I have never been overly excited about writing, but was never something that was I hated.
One of the things that has kept me interested in writing is English class throughout the years. Being able to have such positive feedback from everyone who reads my work is one of the main things that makes me actually want to do the work. As time went on, it was less about physical writing with pen and paper, and more about computer and keyboard. I’ve noticed that this has caused my writing to evolve, since there were less things I had to worry about. I’ve been writing through a digital platform ever since middle school came around. To me, this was far more enjoyable than physical writing ever was. I now spend the majority of my writing time on the computer. Whether it be writing reviews, giving feedback to people who seek my advice, or simply being a normal person on a forum, these are all things that I enjoy the most since it’s one of the few times I can be myself.
With all of this in mind, I really do hate writing that forces me out of my element. Being forced to write and writing when I want to bring out completely different sides of me. I like being in control of what I want to put out, and restraints are things that I have never coped with very well.
