Hello everyone! My name is Nicholas Ono and I am from Southern California, about fifteen minutes from Los Angeles. I moved to New York City about a week ago and already love the city. I decided to go to Baruch because I believe that college would be an excellent opportunity to live somewhere new and experience the city life.
One interesting thing about me is that I love coffee. I first started drinking it in order to stay up and cram during finals week. However, over time, I began to enjoy the taste of coffee and made it into my hobby. I studied everything there is to know about the subject from different beans to roasts. After, I decided to make it a personal goal to try all the shops in my neighborhood which I did. I eventually became a barista during my senior year of high school and learned latte art.
The image I chose is of the Hermosa Beach Pier. Some may recognize it from the 2016 film La La Land, but it is the place where I spent the majority of my summer every year. As much as I love New York City, one of the things I truly miss from being on the West Coast is being able to watch the sunset on the water. Being able to walk to the beach every day was a luxury I took for granted but the beach community represents who I am.
