Introductory Post- Jose Marin

There’s this well-known post going around social media that goes something like “There will be those who will tell you I am the nicest and most outgoing person you’ll meet. And those who say I did them wrong. Believe both”. It’s not word for word but it was a post that I strongly connected with. This post got me hooked because when I paid close attention, I recognized that I switch up my character depending on who I am around. Let’s get one thing clear, I am not “fake”, but one trait many of my friends can admit and agree to is that I am an honest person.

I like to keep an open mind and am willing to hear others viewpoints on a subject or simply conversate. But, I am also not afraid to provide my own opinion into the conversation and this is where some may find it offensive. Those who have taken into offense what I said, I reassure them that I understand his or her perspective and get where they’re coming from. In my experience this scene could be taken in two ways. Some get upset and others are amazed that someone is capable of dropping their ego for a few moments to understand another’s beliefs.

Another interesting fact about me is that I have a creative mind. Regularly, I would stare out into space, lost in my own imagination or admiring at the details of something or someone to emphasize its uniqueness. Random, weird, or different- I like to consider myself full of energy. I would often find myself dancing to no music playing, always grinding, or speaking too fast that others find it difficult to understand me. For those who know me, know that I sleep an average of 3-4 hours a night. I think it is because of my energy that I am outside person and get no rest. I would like to sleep in a couple days but, after a while I just can’t do it. I like to keep myself distracted by being proactive.
