President Donald Trump has said a lot of things over the years and has approved of actions that usually don’t sit too well with the general public. Once again, he resurfaces the topic of anti-immigration and what methods he’ll use to ensure the prevention of any further immigrants entering the country. Most recently, has been using the hundreds of Guatemalan and Salvadoran immigrants approaching the United States border. President Trump is considering to pass an executive order to get rid of citizenship for babies who are born to noncitizens. Originally it was believed that it was impossible for him to do this because it’s violating the 14th Amendment , which grants citizenship rights and equal protection of the laws, specifically to those born in the United States. However, Trump has stated that this can be approved through an executive order. What does this mean? Along with the 5,000 troops set at the border, immigrants now fear if leaving their past life for their future children was the best decision or not? This new plan has created a bunch of controversy between politicians and communities.

Sometimes, I really wonder how Trump thinks …
I tell myself this executive order would never be approved because Congress would rule it unconstitutional. But this world is so unpredictable right now. I really wonder what goes through his mind and why he keeps trying to separate families.
The other day, I met this international student and she was telling me about how she was scared to go back to her country and visit her family because if she leaves, she scared she won’t be able to get back. It’s crazy how so many people are being broken apart from their family and there’s so little we can do about it.
Things like this make me wonder how he was elected in the first place. I am not surprised anymore more I am disappointed that we as a country failed each other. We failed each other by electing a white spremacist who is ignorant to the fact that the reason why he has what he has today is because of immigrants. News articles like this make me want to educate myself more on our politics so I can make a conscious decision when I am voting for a new president. So I won’t need to read articles like this anymore.
