The podcast is about Bernie Sanders’ plan of making college free and debt free as well as persuading the listener to vote for Bernie Sanders. In his speeches, he touches upon political spectrum of the left wing and political viewpoints, but his main supporters are Democratic. To make this plan possible, Sanders wants to use Wall Street tax speculations since their 2011 issue was resolved and it is their turn to help the middle class. There are some constraints to his plan like raised doubts on the expenses and the time spent to execute this plan. He would have to talk to all 50 states individually because each state has different ways of education. Throughout his speech, he uses ethos, pathos, and logos. An example of logos is increasing more services for financial aid and work studies which will pay off college tuition. Also dropping interest rates will be manageable to pay off the debt. One thing that the host said that stood out to me was: “Education should be a right, not a privilege.”
In reviewing her podcast I found it interesting and entertaining, very colorful and full of sound effects (made me wish I had thought of that) her podcast was about Bernie Saunders’ campaign, in particular the cancellation of student debt and free college. She spoke on his effectiveness in convincing the audience on how and why this is a good idea, she also spoke about Bernie Saunders constraints in trying to reach the goal of free college, and the persuasiveness of his speech. She mentions his appeal to the audience’s egos, pathos, and Lagos, mentioning that Bernies’ speech, tone and appearance evoked emotions of empathy and how he was ineffective with his appeal to ethos.
Overall, I think that the podcast fulfilled the requirements of the assignment and was well done. It covered pathos, logos, and ethos regarding statements and campaigning done by Bernie Sanders while also being balanced with the speaker’s perspective. She went over each point clearly while also reflecting upon how she viewed public education and other aspects of Sander’s claims. It held my attention by utilizing humor and lots of sound effects. However, I do think that some of the sounds may have been a bit distracting from the focus of the talk. Still, I think that this podcast was effective and enjoyable, therefore, it achieved its goal.
The speaker also was able to touch upon more than one perspective, which made her talk more sound.
I found that the podcast was enjoyable and easy to follow along with. Although there is a good amount of sound effects, it did not distract me whatsoever. It worked out well. I noticed that although the host of the podcast is a strong supporter of Sanders, they took the time to address the fact that there are restraints with the ideas or fundamentals of the campaign. Addressing the problems did not stop at that, the host went on to talk about the complications considering that it would have to be worked on individually with each state.
The podcast was very well put together. Most of the sound effects and background music really helped keep me engaged. The podcast caught my attention from the start. The compilation of clips saying Bernie Sanders really pulled me in. Sounded professional, like the beginning of a real podcast. A few of the sound effects took away from the podcast for me. They left me confused wondering if they were intentional or not. All in all, the podcast was engaging, well structured, and effective.
I really like how the podcast was initiated with the calling out of sanders in a trendy movie-like way. I was very surprised that she went straight into the commercial, I was confused for a several seconds. The host tried to incorporate humor with the music and comments in favor of Sanders. I think the podcast is very good but superficial, ‘free college’, ‘explains wall street taxes’, ‘dropped interest rates’– it sounds good in theory, but if I learned something in Economics is that “theres not such a thing as a free lunch”. The host is clearly a strong biased Sanders supporter, until the end of the podcast, Roy shocked me when she insinuated that Sanders puts passion into his campaigns, although his points are complete BS, helping him stir up the crowd in his support. I think Roy actually gave a very good explanation about Sanders’ strategy and his fallback. The podcast wasn’t too long and the humor breaks made it fun to listen.
The podcast was edited really well. From the intro just repeating Bernie’s name to the end, the sound effects made the podcast flow really nicely. I really liked it when she used a clip of Pete’s name to complete her sentence. The uplifting background music during the advertisement made it seem more authentic. She explained the rhetoric is Bernie’s speech clearly with her own opinion and left me pulling my headphones off with a very loud ending.
The podcast was really interesting to listen. I really liked the beginning of the podcast, because she gained attention. I found that it was really good hook. Also, she was kind of acting and pretending to be in a fear at the beginning and it was really original. I liked the background music that she was using, it was giving the right atmosphere. She analyzed well how Bernie Sanders appealed to ethos, pathos and logos. She performed all requirements of the Podcast assignment. Overall, it was well-prepared and interesting podcast.
Overall, her podcast is very nicely done. As you listen through her podcast one can tell that she had everything planned out. She was talking with a confidence that gave off a comfortable sense and the audio that she played was very intriguing. For example, the first ten seconds of her podcast you can just hear Bernie’s name repeated multiple times and it shows that she will be talking about him. Not only was the hook engaging, but the sound effects that used made it even more captivating. I have heard some of those sound effects on tik tok and it brought me back.
I thought the podcast was really well produced, edited, and performed. There were lots of nice audio effects that were mostly for comedic effect but some like ding sound effect highlighted how Sanders uses diction (with the word “together”) to appeal to his audience and display how this isn’t just him but everyone fighting for a common goal. She also did a good job at highlighting common counter arguments and explains that she is biased in support for Sanders. I see this as a positive as it shows that while she is passionate in her support for Sanders she understands that he isn’t perfect in every aspect though highlighting the idealism in his plans for the United States future.
I found the podcast very witty, fun and refreshing. The host’s voice was clear and entertaining and made you want to keep listening. She was able to lay out her argument and analysis while keep a spunky vibe. At the end, I would bet she convinced a lot of her listeners to sway towards voting for Sanders. She effectively offered her opinion while backing it up all in good style.
