  1. 1. Author being displaced enables him to be able to compare and contrast his past memories/experiences with the present.
    2. Author found New York to be synonymous to other cities that he mentioned.
    3. I surround myself with people who speak my mother tongue, however, it is impossible to make it feel like home if you are not in it.

  2. 3. When I am far from home and want to feel near it, I like to look through photos of when I was in my hometown and remember the things I did and saw in that photo. Those memories help me feel like I’m somewhere I can be completely comfortable.
