Zeus says a very brazen statement that sarpedon must be killed. Patroclus went out and aimed his weapon to kill Sarpedon but instead hit his lieutenant. Patroclus doesn’t give up and finally kills Sarpedon and Glaucus turns to god for help. Glaucus was praying to have the power to fight back and gather troops to fight back for Sarpedons body. Epeigeus came to join the fight and he finally got to Sarpedons body but was immediately killed! Glaucus becomes the Lycian leader now. Everyone is fighting and many people are dying. Apollo finally takes control and attacks Patroclus. He doesn’t kill him for now but Patroclus tells him that he didnt really do all the hard work to attack and he will die soon for this action. Achilles chases Hector and finally catches up and tells him that he will kill him for stripping off his arm off of Patroclus. People were around in a circle watching Achilles stab Hector. Unfortunately Hectors parents witnessed this scene with their own eyes too.

Glaucus who is the son of hippolochus meets diomedes in the field and they prepare to fight but Tydeus son makes his voice heard and tells him that he probably won’t make it alive. Glaucus requests to share his story and he is granted that wish. The story is that Glaucus had a son named Bellerophon. Proetus had a wife who fell in love with him but realized she couldn’t have him so she attempted to blame him and kill him. This reminds me of the story from the Bible of king Joseph and the governors wife photephara who was in love with Joseph but couldn’t have him so she tried to change the story and tell her husband that Joseph tried sleeping with her so that he can get killed. Proetus wife caused a big battle and forced Bellerophon to have blood on his hands and kill many people. The king of the town awarded Bellerophon with his daughter as a wife and gave him gifts. Diomedes responds by saying that he is considered family with Glaucus and can’t fight with him now. The city is now in a battle sent from Zeus and they are trying to convince Paris to come fight and help them win. Paris didn’t end up fighting but his Trojans forced the Greeks back and the war ended.

Achilles wants Calchas to give over the prophesy even if it’s not a good one but Calchas wants a promise that Achilles will protect him as long as he’s alive from anyone. The prophecy was that god is sending trouble to everyone similar to oedipus story because Achilles took a woman as ransom and doesn’t want to return her back. Achilles mother comes to Achilles and tries to comfort him and asks him why he’s sad and he tells her that there’s a battle going on and asks her to go speak to Zeus to try to put a peaceful end to it. King Agamemnon returns the daughter of Chryses so that the troubles can come to an end. Hera saw Zeus talking to a man even though they had a bad feeling about Hera seeing them talking outside.

P. 1330-1334

Confucius was around the period 551-479 BCE. His ideas were spread throughout Asia. Confucianism was the system of beliefs and practices that were developed over time by Confucius himself. Confucius took office but was very disturbed when he was the rebellious people in the government. He escaped from Lu and decided to go and seek a government that is run the right way. However, after searching for a while he gave up and returned to Lu to become a teacher and to lead by example. Confucius always said that to stop the illegal political behavior we need to return to the moral values of the Zhou dynasty. Analects means the collected sayings that was given by Confucius to his students and they decided to save them and record them since Confucianism was known and continued to be passed down. In the analect it says if you make social life meaningful and perfect it then you reach the status of being a Junzi. It’s interesting that Confucius doesn’t say he’s a Junzi.

I am a little confused in the story but I think its saying that there’s a young boy that is now a grown man and he was born through an unethical relationship? (He) tells Atlanta to get a husband but she doesn’t want to get married so she runs away and dares the men to chase her in order to marry her. She warns them by saying who ever doesn’t marry her will die. Hippomenes (Neptune’s grandson) realizes that many people are chasing her but he doesn’t understand why because he doesn’t find her attractive. She’s not happy with the winner and isn’t sure why she really likes him. Hippomenes approaches Atlanta and tells her to fight it out with him because he is the greatest. Atlanta agrees because she doesn’t think he will win. Everyone is encouraging Hippomenes to pull the trigger and go battle Atlanta. Atlanta tells herself that she really only likes Hippomenes for his youth look. He then got married and entered a place that he shouldn’t have and they got punished for that and their appearance changed entirely because of him. Adonis dies and Cyprus promises to always remember Adonis and then she basically put soil on top of Adonis and a red flower grew out of it.
