Hi! My name is Tiffany Lui, my pronouns are she/her, and I am currently a sophomore at Baruch majoring in business management. My hobbies consist of dancing, binging shows/movies, and traveling to different places around the city. I enjoy visiting new cafes, vintage shops, and even art museums like the MoMA. Music is a big part of my everyday life and despite listening to songs from many different genres, I would have to say that I enjoy R&B, K-R&B and hip hop the most. One text that has made a lasting impression on me would have to be the movie 5 Feet Apart. I watched this movie with my friend a couple years ago when it first released and it left me tearing up in the theatre. This movie is about two teenagers who are cystic fibrosis patients who end up falling in love with one another but because of their conditions, they must always stay 5 feet apart to avoid any possible life threatening cross infections. The reason why this movie stuck with me is because it made me reflect on my own life in ways that I never really paid attention to. Touch has always been a sensitive thing for the main protagonists and to see how heavily affected their lives could be with something so simple made me think about how easy it is for me to take things for granted without even realizing it. There are so many things going on 24/7, and as our lives just get busier, it’s easy to just let things speed past us. However, this movie made me think about how it was necessary for me to appreciate the little things in life. It might not be the most impactful if you think about it now, but when it’s gone, it might just be that much more influential.
