Hi everyone my name is Angel Flores Miranda and this is my sophomore year at Baruch College. My major is in economics and I’m also interested in finance and accounting. I live on long island so my commute to school is about an hour and a half long. Honestly, this isn’t too bad for me because I really enjoy being in the city and walking around just listening to music and looking around. I also consider myself to be very independent so doing this whole commute process is actually enjoyable to me. besides school, I work at a restaurant as well as resell sneakers as a side job. My main hobbies include listening to music, I also enjoy making music, playing some video games, and going to the gym. This semester I’m excited to meet new people and try new things because it is my first time experiencing the in-person college feeling. However, this also makes me a bit nervous and anxious about how this semester will go but I’m keeping a positive mindset.
Honestly, outside of school, I tend not to read or watch a lot of movies but one book that I have read that I constantly think about is called “rich dad poor dad”. This book is meant to teach you about financial skills and financial management through the words of Robert Kiyosaki. After I read this book I took into consideration a lot of the points that Robert brings up and it shaped the way I try to manage my money today. This book was interesting also in that it put the points into perspectives that were easy to understand and then implement. nonetheless, there is a movie that I want to mention because I think it’s worth the watch. The movie is called inception with Leonardo DiCaprio and I love the psychological aspect to it so I think it’s worth the watch.
