This will be our class blog for ENG2850 HMWC! Please get into the habit of checking this site regularly for updates to our syllabus, links to readings, and other announcements! I will be posting a set of discussion questions for each of the texts we’ll be reading. Questions will be posted before our class discussions. Each week you are responsible for posting a response on the blog to at least one of the questions.

Hi! This is Ava Ren. I am a sophomore, looking to major in Accounting. I am part of a family of 5; being the youngest of 3 siblings. On my free time, I enjoy catching up on ABC series like Black-ish and Modern Family. I am also into weight training. I was introduced to weight training junior year of high school by my older brother, who currently boxes. In high school, I was part of the varsity volleyball team. Fall is my favorite season because I am able to wear sweaters without it being too hot or too cold. My least favorite weather is when it rains because it gets really slippery outside and there always seems to be black splatter marks on my pants. For this semester, I would like to be more active on campus. For this course, I would like to come out with a wider range of knowledge on different literature.
Hi! My name is Raymond Mei and I am a sophomore. My intended major is marketing management and advertisement. Some of my favorite hobbies include graphic designing, fitness, and music. My favorite instrument to play is the guitar and I love the style of blues. Some of my favorite artists are John Mayer and Gabe Bondoc. In high school I was a member of the marching band, founded the Music Club, and co-managed/peformed in a theatrical performance called ‘SING’. I also have a pet dog, Flo, who is a five year old maltese. She loves walks and especially treats. I look forward to this course and I hope I will become not only a better reader and writer, but a better critical thinker as well.
Hello, my name is Rolando Cruz. I am a journalism and creative writing major set to graduate at the end of next spring. My hobbies stem from writing to audio engineering. I’m always attending shows and concerts of many different genres of music. Throughout my life I’ve always been into music, which I was personally involved in the industry for over 15 years. I’m looking forward to reading literature that I would normally not be exposed to. I love reading, particularly about history and social issues. I’m looking forward to expanding my writing skills in this class.
