At my visit to the MoMa, I was having a tough time deciding which painting I wanted to write about. After roaming around for about 15 minutes on Friday, I finally made a decision. the painting that intrigued me most was a painting of 5 framed posters with 5 large speakers placed within a couple of feet of the posters. Each framed poster in the painting had a quote on it. The most noticeable, since its the closest, is “Everything Else Has Failed! Don’t You think It’s Time For Love?” Essentially, what that quote is stating is that Love is the solution for a lot of things but people tend to veer away from it. The quote is also shouting out that everything else has failed, which I think that “everything” means all the fakeness in society and the best solution is to love, because love is real and that is true happiness. My favorite part of the painting is the speakers in front of each quote. In my eyes it looked like the speakers were a means to getting one’s views out and expressing what one truly believes in or doesn’t believe in at all. Overall, I liked this painting since it reflected on what I believe in and I honestly liked the speaker aspect because it shows EXPRESSION!
