In class, we talked about how the picture of the lady with furs represented Gregor’s desires. When his mother and his sister are cleaning out his room, Gregor looks around his room to see what he should save and he decides to protect this picture from being taken away from him. What does the picture mean to him now?

Does Gregor’s parents care about him? When Gregor’s parents saw him, his mother became scared and his father became hostile towards him. Why didn’t they question about Gregor’s transformation? Why did they push him away and not help him out?
