11/7: Mrs. Dalloway
Is Peter just trying to ignore the love he has for Clarissa? Why is Mrs. Dalloway with Richard if it seems that they don’t even love each other?
Is Peter just trying to ignore the love he has for Clarissa? Why is Mrs. Dalloway with Richard if it seems that they don’t even love each other?
Peter Walsh felt that the community can trust their lives in each other. Isn’t it ironic that seconds later he believes Clarissa and Elizabeth do not get along, isn’t fond of her father or her for that matter?
Richard still loved Clarissa but did she want something more then him? Is that why she left him at the fountain instead of trying to explain or fixing the problem she just left?
Karina couldn’t find her keys. She had left them on Michaels desk, found it! Looks at her phone and its 8:45, she has time but she needs to hurry because the 8:50 train is coming. She grabs all of her stuff- her bag and coat- and walks out of the apartment fighting with the New York Yankee key and M&M key to get the silver one to close the door. She starts walking down the first flight of stairs while untangling her headphones. While Kanye spitted through the wire loudly on through her phone she got to the front door anxiously and opened it. Closed it behind her and texted her dad and mom to let them know she was leaving.
She rushes to the 46th train station while she has four-five seconds from missing her 8:50 train. Walks past and ignoring the comments and swipes her metro card to stand next to a post. The train comes and she’s shoved in train looking for air and room, she spots a sweet spot in the back of the cart. Slowly maneuvers her self there while excusing and sorry-ing herself, not because wanting to bother no one. Patiently waits until the train gets to Lexington and a pact of people exit the cart and life if given to her, her legs and lungs. Tiredness can really tire people out. Tired and sleepy she sits on the corner, last seat of the three seats, and rest head to the back. Ignoring everything she closes her eyes, but as she closed her eyes to rest she quickly crossed eyes with the the lady in the red coat fixing her curls. She sitting there with her eyes closed and holding her black school bag. She like that green coat she’s wearing, looks really comfy. She plays with her curls as she wonders how her hair looks, the curls might be a little messed up. Getting off at 28th Street the lady in the red coat looks back for one last time to the little girl in the green coat holding her black school bag.
Peter expresses that he is in love with a married woman in India and plans to assist in her divorce. Peter, however, still appears to be in love with Clarissa. He even seems to have hope that Clarissa is unhappy with Richard. Did Peter possibly “fall in love” with a married woman because he is apprehensive to truly move on from Clarissa and knows that loving a married woman will keep him commitment free for the time being?
Why is Peter still madly in love, or possibly obsessed, with Mrs. Dalloway, even after all the years he’s been away from England?
Why did Clarissa end up marrying Richard Dalloway? It doesn’t seem like there’s much love between them?
Why does Peter seem to be so insecure of himself?
Karsyn put on a jacket.
She knew it might it be chilly outside. The elevator doors opened and she stepped on. On the subway she spots Grace Garcia, a friend from her building. Karsyn smiles and waves. Grace does not notice, but a random man next to her does. Does the man think its to him? He is confused, but smiles back and wonders her intentions. The doors ding, a familiar sound, and open at 68th street.
How far away it seemed. She entered the city alone. Her apprehension and fear over her new surroundings. She toured Hunter College, wondering if she would end up there. The reasons she decided against it are foggy, but it doesn’t matter now.
The doors open at 23rd street. She exits up the stairs, past a man playing guitar. What an inconvenient spot. A familiar homeless man sits on the corner with his dog. A year and a half at Baruch College and she has seen this man countless times. Karsyn enters Baruch College.
What does Clarissa’s reaction to a woman having a baby before being married tells us about her? Why did she react this way? When Peter said “the death of her soul,” does this mean that Peter have never seen this side of her or was this the worst side that Peter have seen of her?
