Blackboard

Gotta be honest with you: I don’t use Blackboard. I know many of great teachers who do. For me, I felt like Blogs @ Baruch was going to do what I needed, and that I didn’t also need Blackboard.

Blogs @ Baruch can take more time to setup. Blackboard makes for a much less time-consuming one-stop-shop for lots of teaching styles and content.

Blackboard own help site and tutorials are honestly very good, and provide strong instruction in making all aspects of Blackboard work for you: adding content, including instructional materials, organizing units and providing schedules, assigning and collecting work, facilitating discussion boards and blogs, and integrating other programs or media platforms, such as YouTube. You can do a lot on Blackboard. It’s a good time to be using a limited number of technologies with depth.

The Baruch Computing and Technology Center (or BCTC) handles questions about Blackboard at Baruch. You can email them at [email protected]. A ticket will be created for your request, and a staff member will be assigned to help you.
