Dr. Kenneth & Mamie Clark conducted an experiment in 1939. They presented two identical dolls to children; the only difference is that one was white & the other black. Then, they asked a series of questions regarding which one was bad & good, or which one was pretty & ugly. A majority of the children choose the white doll to be nice and pretty, but the black doll to be bad and ugly.
