Blog#1: Joining my first club
j.brito1 on Sep 11th 2017
So on September 7, 2017, I decided to go and see what the Latinx club reunion on the second floor was about. Since I am a Latino i supposed I should participate. Once I got there, the music was popping, there were people putting sings up and, something caught my eye very quickly, food. I saw this one particular poster that had my country’s flag shield on it, and it happened to be the Dominican Student Association. I asked one of the members how to join and gave them my email and my name. After that, they gave me an ice cream that’s known from my country, called Mamacita, and they offer a dish which I couldn’t get to see or taste because there where so many people at this club reunion. Soon I will attend to my first meeting for this club on September 19th.
Not only was there the Dominican Student Association that day there was also order clubs like the Ecuadorian club, Lazo and the Undergraduate Student Government (giving out free books). I really enjoyed the music and the vibe that everyone showed that they, it felt like everyone was a big family. I’m also happy because I got to join my first club which is one more step towards involving in Baruch’s society.
