Microsoft accepts foreign degrees (H1B visas)
http://www.thedegreepeople.com/press/tag/h1b-visas/
When we watched “Maid in America,” we discussed how America devaluates foreign education and requires most people to go back to school in order to get jobs in corporate America and other high industries. For example you can be doctor in India but when you move to the U.S. you cannot keep the same profession until you go back to school. This can be very overwhelming for anyone who have to go through this process because one feels that they are just waiting their time learning again what they already know. I find this to be totally dehumanizing because what makes the American degree better than the one obtained in China or Africa. Just because America is all powerfull does’nt make their education better than any other country.
I am from Senegal and I know countless people who had to go back to school when they moved here, when some of them have Bachelor’s and Master’s but in order to make it they have to repeat what they already learned.
Even though America tends to devaluate foreign education, the corporation Microsoft is an execption. This article http://www.thedegreepeople.com/press/tag/h1b-visas/ is from the Career Consulting International Credential Evaluation Services and it says that Microsoft is willing to hire professionals from other countries with H1B visas because Americans do not make the grades needed to perform the jobs they hire for.
The process however is not an easy one because in order to hire those professionals, an evaluation is required by experts who evaluate foreign education and it is time consuming.

N.F.L.’s Official Air Freshener Aims at Female Fans, and the Cleanup
This New York Times article is about market segmentation in which women are the targeted viewers. Febreze is an official sponsor for the NFL, therefore they use their commercial time to sell their product to women showing a video of a group of men who are watching a football game in lady’s house. The commercial shows the mess and stench the guys leave behind and give the solution of Febreze that will get rid of the unpleasant smells.
“Earlier today your living room was game day central — a place for friends, family and your husband’s trademark victory dance,” says a voiceover, as attendees are seen celebrating. “Now the crowd is gone and all that remains is the stink. But you’re ready, because Febreze Air Effects cleans away tough game-day odors in the air — sweat socks, chicken wings, garlic dip — and leaves a light, fresh scent.”
The commercial is a clever one to make women turn to this product even though the NFL is mostly viewed by a male audience because apparently there is a stereotype that women don’t like football. “Scott Beal, brand manager for Febreze, said the line of air and fabric fresheners was directed at women, especially mothers, and that the brand ‘reaches our core consumer in a contextually relevant way’ through the N.F.L.

When fundamentalist go to far about homosexuality
Crazy Baptist Lady On Tyra Bank\’s Show
This video is about a Christian fundamentalist family who were invited on the Tyra Bank’s Show and they speak harshly about homosexuals. The mother is from a baptist church and teaches her children to hate gay people. They are a close minded family who believe that gays who are victims of hate crimes or who die from wars deserve it and will go to hell. They also said that the parents of the homosexuals will burn in hell because they didn’t teach their children to be “good” people.
They aggravate Tyra and she gets to a point that she starts yelling at them. They family call Tyra a “faggonator” because she teaches her audience that it is okay to be gay.
The Baptist lady’s two daughters are college students but yet act like they have never sat on a school chair because they sound so hateful and brainwashed by their surrounding that they end up sounding ridiculous. Tyra asks them why all the anger but they said that they are not angry but try to get their message across to people who “hate God, who hate his message…”
Finally even though this family have been prosecuted fro being anti-gay, they said it will not stop them from seding their message to the world. They said that their church has been vendalized and bombed but they won’t stop. I think this is too extreme because we live in a free world and people should be left alone if they decide to lead certain lifestyles.
“Maafa 21 The History of Eugenics In America Part 2 of 13”
Maafa 21 The History of Eugenics In America Part 2 of 13
This video is about Eugenics in America. After slavery was abolished the White race panicked and feared that the Black population would out number them. They decided to limit the black population by controlling how many children they could have, creating birth control and steralizing many of them.
The film is part 2 of 13 and it goes it depth on how the system worked. American Eugenicists tried their hardest to get rid of the Black population. This is a shameful part of American history, the land of the “free.”
Surrogacy in India
Rent-a-womb: Outsourcing Surrogacy in India
This is a fascinating video about how far some women would go to make ends meet. Women in India are renting their wombs to western women who can’t bear children. These Indian women are inserted with embryos, which they carry full term under contract and get paid for up to $7000, which is five times less than they would pay back home.
This industry is a huge one in India as many poor women are turning to it for the money. I am not mad at these westerners who would go to great extenses to have children, but I feel bad for the surrogate women. I don’t think they know what they are exposing themselves to. I don’t think the need of money should drive women to rent their wombs, I think it’s just a immoral thing to do, eventhough it gives infirtile women a chance to
become mothers. I think that everything happens for a reason, so if God decides that a woman shouldn’t have children, then I don’t think they should force it. These women should consider adoption before they decide to rent other women’s wombs. This is science and medicine gone too far.
