As you look for sources for your discursive and your argument/interpretive questions, the following peer-reviewed scholarly journals might be a good place to look. You will need your Baruch ID and password in order to access these journals off campus.
The Journal of Pop Culture (from 1990- to 1 year ago) and (from 1997 to present)
The Journal of American Culture
Studies in Popular Culture (from 1977- 2013 in JSTOR) and (from 2008- present)
The Journal of Religion and Popular Culture
Note: I have tried to include links to these journals in this post. However if the link does not work, you can access these journals by following the below steps:
1) Go to the Baruch Library home page.
2) Go to the yellow search box.
3) Click “Journals.”
4) Enter one of the titles listed above.
5) You will then be directed to a screen that tells you which database houses the archives of that journal (usually with an indication of the years available for search). Most of the time there is more than one link.
6) Click on one of the links. If you have options and are not sure which ones to pick, “Humanities Source,” “JSTOR,” and “Academic Search Complete” are usually good options.
7) You should then be directed to a page where you can browse various issues of that journal.
8) You will want to look for either a search box or a link that says “search within this journal.”
9) If you have a search box already there, begin to type in keywords to search all the volumes of that journal that are housed in that database.
10) If you have to click “search within this journal,” click that link. You will be directed to a page with a number of search boxes so that you can perform simple or advanced searches of all the issues of that journal housed in that database.
