database survival workshop 10/15 Jeffrey Cheung

I attended the workshop on using the databases available to students at Baruch and found it to be fairly useful.  The databases are included in our tuition and fees, so it would be good to take advantage of them for any research we may need for our classes.  However, I found much of the information included in the workshop, such as how to make a search, to be redundant because it is so commonplace and straightforward.  The speaker did not need to go into the details of exactly how to use the search bar or what to type into it.  Almost everyone, especially young college students, should be able to use a simple search engine without a step-by-step tutorial.  We would have save a lot of time if we skip over all that stuff.
