I really enjoyed the club fair. It gave me an idea of everything that is available to me. I signed up for alot of clubs but during some of their general meetings i plan to narrow down my choices. They had music and different clubs dancing to create a relaxed environment. Through this fair I was able to meet alot of upperclassmen that told me about certain clubs and organizations in Baruch that i had no idea about. I look forward to being apart of some of them and learning more.
Freshman Reception Workshop
Last Thursday I as well as my fellow freshmen, approximately 1200 of them, attended the Freshmen Reception Workshop. The workshop was very informational in the sense that I gave us the very useful information on course selection as well as course requirements. They also added, in my opinion a very important fact. Until we acquire a total of 75 credits we do not have an academic adviser therefore we should use the Degree Works Audit website to plan ahead and see what course track we would like to take. All in all the workshop was very helpful although it was rushed due to the fact more people had attended than expected.
Workshop on Thursday
I attended a workshop on Thursday to receive information about creating a schedule next semester. An advisor signed my planner. I felt it was useful, it was good to learn about what I am going to have to do, and they gave out refreshments.
Freshman Reception Workshop
Today’s workshop was more of a recap of what we learned over Freshman orientation and our convocation. The career advisor explained to us the breakdowns of the separate degrees we can earn. She told us some of the required courses one would have to take in order to achieve these degrees. Also she explained to us that as a Freshman we cannot schedule an appointment with a career advisor but we can go online to the Baruch website and complete a degreeworks audit. This will help us see how many credits we have or need. Even though we learned about what was talked about today, I thought it was a very good review on what I should know.
library tour
during the library tour michael, our advisor, showed us all the different features the library had to offer. during the summer i took a course in Baruch so i thought i knew what the library was all about but its a good thing i wen to the tour because i really learned a lot from michael and i will definitely refer to the library for help in the future
Library tour
During the library tour I learned many new things about The William and Anita Newman Library. I was surprised to see all the resources that were available to Baruch students such as the rooms for rent, where you can privately study with a group or practice presentations, and the many laptops for rent. After seeing all that the library had to offer, I plan on spending a lot of time there for the period i spend at Baruch.

Library Tour + Blogging
The library tour was ok, as dylan said i knew a couple of things already because of the summer program but i think it was a good idea just to go through it again. There were a couple of details that i may have missed before that i was able to get information on.
Personally i’ve never blogged before but i think this is a very good way to get to know each other. Especially because i can read blogs from the other freshman as well.
Library Tour
This is Dylan Klein from the 12:50 Tuesday Freshman Seminar class. During our tour of the library, I was informed of stuff I had already learned by taking my math summer course. In my free time at the course, I learned the insides and out on where to go to print, make copies and quick-checkout books. Just because I learned a lot about the library then, didn’t mean that the tour went to waste. I learned that I could rent out different size room to practice presentations, work with a group or tutor with someone. I thought this was extremely interesting to know just in case I need to work on a group project on school grounds. I definitely thought the library tour was beneficial especially to people who don’t know what you can do there.
