One of the workshops I attended was the Academic Advisement workshop. There were so many people there; it was hard to maneuver, especially since most of the people were just there so they could fulfill their Freshmen Seminar requirements. I thought it was pretty helpful, though. I learned about the Honors program, where I could go for tutoring help, and all about the athletics at Baruch.
Einstein’s Dreams
I had to see “Einstein’s Dreams” for theater; I thought it was well-done, yet really crazy. The theater was surprisingly small, but I think it worked for the play. It was really cool how they used the lights and how little props they used.
Doll House
I saw the play “Doll House” for my english class as one of my workshops. I thought it was pretty good, even though it was just a reading of the play. I think it was cool how they made it seem more like a play than it actually was, like how they made it seem like there were props, even though there weren’t.
Library Tour
The first workshop of the semester was Michael’s library tour. It was extremely helpful – without it, I probably would have no idea where anything in the library is and would not have been able to utilize the library as well as I have this semester. Thanks Michael!
Lastminute<3
Idk if you actually read these posts, but it took me literally 30 minutes to find this page. <—that sentence doesnt make sense because the first part has nothing to do with the latter. =D love that word latter. I’m not sure if this counts as a post, I’m just rambling on about nothing. Nobody will even read this. If you do… then get a life ;P Why are you still reading? Ok well since your still here lets talk about something interesting like Asian Giant Hornets! The Asian giant hornet, Vespa mandarinia, also known as the Japanese hornet and known colloquially as the yak-killer hornet,[citation needed] is the world’s largest hornet, native to temperate and tropical Eastern Asia. Its body length is approximately 50 mm (2 in), with a wingspan of about 76 mm (3 in).[1] Queens may reach a length of 55 mm (2.2 in).[2] In Japan, the Japanese hornet is referred to as the sparrow bee (雀蜂, suzumebachi?) alluding to its size or its coloration.

Okay I’m done, have a nice weekend, err, week \/ and <3
P.s. \/ means peace, you can steal that I give you permission since you were going to steal it anyway 😉
Study Abroad Seminar
This workshop explained to me the different activities they do and how much they love when Americans visit. I was able to speak with representatives from Chile, Peru, Brazil, London, Spain, and many more countries. I also learned that if I wanted to study abroad during the winter or summer intersessions I could possibly get a scholarship for it. Going to the study abroad fair really opened my eyes to the options we have and I am definitely looking forward to studying abroad either my sophomore or junior year at Baruch.
Froshmun Resepshin
the froshmun resepshin was great. along with enjoying refrishmints and lessining to myosic i got to meet other froshmun. i also got help thru deciding what majors or miners i should pick, and what courses i can take next semester among other helpful things. I hope were not getting graded for spelling =X
Career Builder
Seriously now, I attended the workshop on the workshop on how to go for a job interview. The speaker gave a Powerpoint with many tips I would never have imagined such as not wearing cologne or black clothing. Although I am only a freshman, it is good for me to know these things for regular interactions with professors. Powerpoint is also very fun to use. I had fun with it on my presentation for English. Its easy to use!
Academic Advisement 101?
It was a madhouse, there were people all over, packed together like sardines? but after signing in my name and going to the multi-purpose room to attend different stations, I think things ran smoothly. I learned a lot, like where to go for tutoring help, like the SACC center? I also learned about the Simnet test which I really need to study and sign up for. It was helpful to know about all of the things and places you can take advantage of in Baruch, I’m glad I went? IDK are you asking me or telling me? ;P
Library Adventure
The most useful thing I got out of this excursion was the location of the “sleeping” room<3. It was also helpful to learn about the library, if you had never been there before. It was my first time in the library and although Ive never been an avid library goer, I feel I will be in the future when the academia becomes evermore challenging.
