A doll house

In English class, we watched the play, “A doll house.” It was performed at a basement of the vertical building. It was the first time to visit a theatre in Baruch. It was really nice and clean. The play was very impressive too. It was very valuable time.

LAST BLOG YAY!

Hello!

I really regret writing all these blogs together. I thought I could remember everything clearly and blog everything the night before it was due, but in retrospect I shouldve immedeately blogged after the seminar. ): lesson learned.

Blog Entry #6: Communication

About a month ago I attended a workshop concerning communication. The seminar leader spoke about developing communcation skills and how to do so at Baruch. It was very similar to what Ms. Sultana was teaching us, especially about not being stiff and acting calm and confident. The speaker also recommended a communications class to take in the future. All in all i felt the seminar was very helpful.

Student Services

I went to this workshop with a friend. I didn’t really know what kind of workshops I was supposed to go to, so I just followed my friend. It was nice to learn what services Baruch offered for its students, for instance tutoring if you need help.

Blog Entry #5: Blood Drive

About a month ago, Eve, Charm, Geena and I saw a Blood Drive table on the second floor. The lady working there was very nice and informed us about the benefits of donating blood. I was familiar with this because my high school had a lot of drives. However, in the end I was unable to actaully give my blood. ):

Freshman Reception

This is really late. I remember this one because everyone had gotten a card in the mail telling them to come to this. There were so many people because everyone thought that it was mandatory. I think because of this it was very hectic and everything they wanted to do may not have been done. It was nice to find out where things were and where to go for help for career planning and advisement for tracking my academic career.

Stress Blog

Hello!

Blog Entry #4

A while ago I stopped by a workshop about Stress and Anxiety with Anuvrat. I thought this would be helpful because I was really stressed out about my math grade. Also, it is very common for students in college to be stressed in general. The seminar informed us of different ways to reduce stress. However, peronally i thought the tactics were somewhat odd? Somethings were helpful, but I wasn’t ecstatic about the seminar overall.

Stress and Anxiety Reduction

November third, Baruch held a Stress and Anxiety Reduction workshop which I thought was somewhat helpful. As a college student, it is common to be under a lot of stress and hard times with all the work given as well as trying to maintain a social life. They showed us a variety of activities to help us relieve stress such as holding a raisin and feeling its weight and texture. It was quite comforting to know that there were other people who feel the same as me and that there are things I can do to help myself get through the difficult feelings of stress.

Library Tour

The library tour was necessary. We were told where everything was, from the information desk to the laptop rentals. Without it, the library would be a very confusing place for the first few weeks of school.

Doll House

I went to the reading of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House with my english class. It is about a woman who deceives her husband and has been paying back a debt by herself, behind his back. A man who doesn’t want to lose his job decides to blackmail her husband in order to keep his job and get promoted. In the end the husband finds out and she leaves him to live her own life. It was an interesting story that seemed pretty original. I wouldn’t mind seeing it again.
