Yesterday, I went to the Department of Black and Hispanic Studies And The Weissman School of Arts and Sciences event called The Changing Nature of Race, Power and Ethnicity in the era of Obama and Sotomayor. Although, I wasnt on time for the event because I was still in class I found it rather interesting. I loved the fact that they didnt glorify nor put down Obama of Sotomayor. The speakers discussed the leaders from both points of views, noting their accomplishments and at times they critiques. My professor Dr.Fernandez invited the class to attend the event for extra credit. I went for the extra credit but also because I found the topic of interest. I like to see that the world is changing and that an African American, and Hispanic can be in power. I hope to attend other events that the Department of Black and Hispanic studies has to offer. I wrote this blog a long time ago but for some reason i saved it as a draft but didnt publish it lol
