Community-Global Awareness – Film Series

Because I started attending workshops a little bit later than I should have, I had to sign up for one of the last workshops for Community-Global Awareness which was the Film “My Beautiful Laundrette.”   Now before anyone makes fun of me for choosing to attend a film with a title such as “My Beautiful Laundrette,” I must let you know that I didn’t feel comfortable giving blood to fulfill the community-global awareness workshop and I was getting desperate becuase there weren’t any community-global workshops scheduled for the remainder of the semester.  Either way the film was cancelled but there was a kind lady at the lecture hall who signed all of the students’ planners.  I was grateful becuase I didn’t want to stay at Baruch until 5 o’clock on a Friday.

About Marino Sorbara

Hello. My name is Marino Sorbara. I am from Valley Stream, NY. I have lived in Valley Stream for my whole life. I have an older brother who attends St. John's University. Most of my ancestors were born in Italy in a town located in Calabria. My parents were wed in Italy and then moved to New York to start a family. I myself, have been to Italy four times. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and cousins, playing cards, and playing soccer. I hope everything works out here at Baruch.
