Today I attended an Arts enrichment that was located in the Mishkin building at 22nd street. As the name of the workshop suggests, it was an art exhibition containing fancy photographs related to the natural world and its landscapes. After waiting for about a half hour, it was our group’s turn to go into the exhibition room. Once there, we were led to different sections, as a woman briefly explained what each photo was about. I thought most of the photos were strange, to the say the least. The one that I found strikingly odd was this one that showed the butts of various naked men and women lying along side each other. It was apparently supposed to look like a “landscape”, but I felt the artist probably just took it for shock value, passing it off as art. Overall, this workshop was brief and fairly entertaining. Amd although I do wish they had art that suited my taste better, I like how Baruch is encouraging its mainly business-orientated students to also consider entirely different professions.
