Using & Evaluating the Web for Research

Yesterday my friend and I attended this workshop in the library.  Even though it lasted for only 30 minutes, I found it very useful.  A guy showed us some tips on how to do research with the use of Google.com.  He also told us not to use Wikipedia even though it always comes up as one of the first results when researching a topic, and Bogus because it’s only for fun.  What I really go out of this workshop was that I can do more effective research on the Web with the use of his tips.  These tips include the use of key words, adding quotation marks/words to narrow down your search, Google Directory, Google-Advanced Search, etc.  Without this workshop, I would be lost especially when it comes to doing a research paper.  KEY THING: WORDS MATTER!!
