Impression Management

On November 5th I attended a workshop called “Impression Management” in room 3-165. The workshop was about how to present yourself in both school and work. The presenter used power point slides and interacted with the audience a lot. In his own way he was showing us an example of impression management. With impression management came how to act in school and work, what is important in getting a career, and the meaning of college in relation to the future. The Starr Career Development Center was also talked about, telling us what it can do for us and how it can help us. A lot of the tips seemed like common sense, but I felt that it was a very important reminder on how to portray myself in front of others in order to get ahead. Overall, the presentation was a little bit long, but every minute of it seemed like something that everyone should know.
