Using & Evaluating the Web for Research

On October 20, 2009 I went to a library workshop that showed us how to look for information that has good reputation and is appropriate to be quoted in a research paper.  I find this workshop to be essential as a student because even though many articles can be found in the Baruch library’s data base, sometimes there is not enough articles on the topic.  As a result one would try to look up more information through the Internet, but there are sites that has false information, so it’s important to check the credibility.  Also there was some fun facts the presenter shares about these false sites and that made it more interesting.  I think this workshop is very helpful especially with research papers and even for just look up any information that is not from wikipedia, which is also important because wikipedia may have some information about the topic but it is not always accurate.
