On December 1st,2009 I went to room 8-210 for a lecture about the globalization of religion. This was part two of a series of lectures on immigration. There were a bunch of professors and I think grad students. There were also some other students who, like me, went so that we could finish up our freshmen workshops. There was a speaker who talked about her research on religion, mostly about the movement of people and their belief in spirits. Honestly, I had no idea what they were talking about. I tried listening to what she was saying, but there were a lot of big words and seemed like I needed some prior knowledge to know what was happening. The lecture lasted about 40 minutes, with about 20 minutes of members of the audience commenting and asking questions.
