On October 29, 2009 I went to a workshop that fulfills the personal enrichment category and it involves with fixing personal conflicts in school. At first the workshop was crowded and there was a possibility that those who didn’t sign up for the workshop can’t stay but in the end they allowed everyone in and because there was no space some had to sit on the floor. This workshop not only show us how to resolve conflict that may involve with the professor, grades, or other students but it also gave some information on how to deal with it and there is this Ombuds office that helps with conflicts in school. I like how the workshop did not center itself on a presentation but involves us to interact with each other and present a way to fix the conflicts. Basically the Professor that was hosting the workshop split us into groups and gave us scenarios. After we have practice what to say and play out the scenarios we present to the whole class and what the professor would do is she will point out what the group is doing right and what they are doing wrong. I think this workshop is overall very useful in termsof helping us learn how to deal with conflicts and also learn some of the Baruch policies.
