Baruch is BORING !!

This blog is unrelated to academic topics and I do not mind that it may not be considered a valid blog counted for the 7 blogs we need to do. I simply wish to state my opinions about Baruch in this blog.

Baruch is BORING !! Well, to me anyways. The food is fine, there are a variety of stores around us, I just hate spending money every day for food.

As for the student life … where’s the parties? =[ I don’t mind if I don’t go to any, but I would at least like to be informed, so at least I can say that I CHOSE not to go or CHOSE to be bored.

I haven’t even joined one club yet and its all because of CALCULUS !! Every Thursday during Club Hours I’m doing homework instead of having fun. Although I’m sure many other students in this class MAY be doing the same. I guess I should just finish the homework the night before then but this happened the last 4-5 Thursdays. The student game lounge is horrible. It’s filled with ping-pong nerds and pool hogs. None of the computers in the school have sound or a head phone slot. And I would never even try the poker table behind the game lounge.

But for those students who are having a blast !! Please, inform me !! I’m dying here.

Contact me at the typical email for all Baruch students.

OMG, WTF!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I finally found somebody that agrees witrh meeeeee, Im so happy, ok, I will not say anything about 23rd building, nor clases, but what i feel abouth Baruch. I transfersd to baruch thinking that it is a real business school as they lie to everybody, they never say this is a liberal arts school officially with a busines school WITHIN the LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGE, I personally have seen a few guys transfering to City college or NYU, they use the Glo-bus for their final course (BLP) but this is not exclusive from Baruch, many other colleges use it! You know other colleges like stony Brook (where I came from) actually make research, and actually are finding new treatments and cures for deseases(in the medical area)
Baruch is too full of itself, no humility at all. Other colleges have a better variety of majors, and busines(with a program similar to baruch) is the low-core program.
People is attracted to Baruch because it is a college located downtown manhattan with a cheap tuition. Do you see any white dudes here? oh man, I regret so much of coming here, they hook me up with the prerequisites program, at this point i should be an engineer in my other school, getting ready for medical school

Yea, I’ve heard complaints about the 23rd st building! I haven’t had classes there, so I’m not aware of how shabby it is! Wow, you missed the class that was perfect for what you just said there! We just had this discussion about classes yesterday, you totally missed out dude!

  4. I have to agree in part with Jeff! I haven’t heard of any parties and the game lounge could use some work. I was there afterschool (or aftercollege, I suppose) playing ping pong, but it’s still kinda lame. I like the Library building, but the rest of the College could use some work….especially the old 23rd St. Building. Plus, there should be more Wi-fi (so I could use it in my classes…haha). The students are pretty cool though that’s obviously not a direct credit to the college so much as those who apply. I don’t eat school food and don’t go out much, but I’m not complaining that we have a 2 hour break because I intend to get a 4.0 in Calculus (though I must agree that many of the teachers, him including, are HORRIBLE!). Such nit-picking I don’t think I’ve ever seen before in my life. It’s like he WANTS his students to fail…and then brags about it (“Did YOU KNOW that 50% of my students fail”, “write F or D”.) Though my philosophy and my Pol Sci teachers are cool and my English teacher’s OK, the History teacher also is horrible — not that he teaches incorrectly, but that he can’t really teach, partly (I suspect) he doesn’t know all that much about his subject area, which is why he stresses the general concepts and barely ever goes into any amount of detail. Though I like that he gives Extra Credit, unlike our Math teacher who wants to deprive his students (including those like me who’ve taken Calc already) from getting a 4 by, for example, taking off insane amounts of partial credit for the simpest mistakes (positive/negative signs, wrong copying, or even not enough baby-steps). Actually, my latest complaint is that he had us find the derivative of some function and I showed 8 steps but in my answer in the numberator I factored out 48 and not 192 (even tho the answer was completely the same). You’d think that a guy whose taught for 50 years (and spends half the class time bragging about it) would be able to do simple Math. If I didn’t want to not fail that class (maybe after we get our grades) I’d like to just come up to him and release a few explicitives (though, of course, I won’t so don’t be alarmed…for the mentors or adults who are reading this…hopefully, HE won’t =)

Yeaaa, get used to spending money everyday! This isn’t high school dude! No free lunch haha, you can save money by eating wisely, or you can bring food from home maybe? You need to join clubs in order to get invitations to events! Can’t you do your calc hw another time other than club hours? I thought you signed up for a Japanese club? The computers in the labs have headphone slots!! Maybe you should go get a game of ping pong and pool… maybe you’ll like it!
