Today I attended the Gallery Tour at the 22nd ST building. It was a nice experience but we were only taken to about three or four pieces and our group was so large that I could barely hear or see the gallery director as she gave us the tour. The theme of the exposition was nature and many of the other works of art that I saw were beautiful although I prefer abstract art.
I think this particular workshop took me out of my comfort zone because the atmosphere was very laid-back and we couldn’t really walk around and look at anything independently. I would recommend the Gallery Tour to anyone who enjoys art and learning about art, specifically this one which was mostly photographs.
I don’t feel as though I learned anything from this workshop other than the fact that Baruch has an actual art gallery and it was nice that I could take part in this workshop.
Sounds like a nice experience though, even though there wasn’t that many pieces of artwork. I’m glad you thought they were beautiful! Maybe you can attend other exhibitions if they have any!
