Basic Interviewing

On November 12th, 2009 I went to the basic interviewing skills workshop. The goal of the workshop was to teach us how to properly prepare for and conduct a successful interview. The speaker was an advisor from Baruch’s STARR Center. She had a lot of personal experience with conducting interviews and I found her to be very insightful on the subject. She explained such things as how to dress, what to prepare to say beforehand, and how to act during the actual interview. She let us know that at the STARR Career Development Center we could find all of the support that we need. Overall, the workshop was helpful and the speaker informed us about how to behave  in an interview but it was a pretty boring lecture.

Hopefully you will remember some of the tips she gave you, if not like she said, the Career center is always there to help!
