Blood?

I never really understood the idea of sharing blood. It always seemed like some sort of Satanic thing to do. Also i didn’t even know my blood type. I believe I’m a type B but nothing is confirmed. This blood drive was no different from any other blood drive that i have seen. They take alot of your blood and tell you to eat a bagel to make up for it. I don’t think i will ever donate my blood unless it’s for a family member.

My old school host several of these a year. They asked all the good questions like STDs? Homo-sexual activities?  if i were the recipient i want the blood i get to be CLEAN. remember, your blood might save someone else’s life

Steven, maybe I can shed a little light on your subject….if you donate blood, they will take one pint out of you. Your body will regenerate the platelets and the plasma within 24 hours. The red cells will take less than 56 days. We ask you to eat afterward to boost your blood sugar level and keep your body hydrated. Yes, we ask you a bunch of questions to make sure you are a “safe” donor and then your blood is heavily tested for different things – like HIV. If you sign up for the marrow program, they end up taking a couple of tubes out of the line before you donate the pint. In fact, some centers use a cheek swab and don’t take blood at all.

If you’d like more information about the donation process, feel free to email me at [email protected].

sorry if i wasn’t clear but I don’t like the idea of sharing my blood with other people. while i’m at it, why don’t i donate my bone marrow too? They stick this big needle into your hipbone and suck it out. 😡 not fun. Blood + bone marrow are MINE! 😀

Did you actually donate blood or just checked it out?
