On December 1st, 2009, I attended the Mercedes Matters Gallery Tour in the Sydney Mishkin Gallery on 23rd street. The tour guide took us through various rooms where some of Mercedes Matters’ artwork was displayed. Although they were quite abstract, each painting provided its own sense of deep emotion. Most of the paintings looked very similar at first but as the tour went on I began to notice slight differences in them with respect to the period of her life. The tour itself wasn’t very intriguing however. The guide did nothing to make the tour any more exciting but did provide some insightful information on the life of Mercedes Matters. Overall, it wasn’t as bad as I expected.
How could she have made it more intriguing? Would you recommend this workshop?
