On October 15, I attended an academic workshop in the library called Database Survival, and it was all about ways we can access the database Baruch offers. We also learned about the library, and how to find books online. However, I am no stranger to online databases. Throughout high school, we were required to write research papers, and so we had two workshops about using online databases. I already know how to use the New York Public Library database, and now I know how to use the Baruch one, which will come in handy seeing as I have a reseach paper due for English soon.
The speaker was a little nervous, however, and he had to stop a few times and correct himself. There were tons of freshmen there, so that was probably why he was a little nervous. But it was a good experience. I learned plenty about the functions of Baruch’s online database. Hopefully everything will stick!
